- In date order, list each assignment: assignor, assignee, date, and the contract described. Mark a missing link. Do not say a credit statute binds the assignee.
- What the lawyer must review
- You decide the effect of the assignment. No assignment statute, and no statute that makes a credit code follow the contract, was opened. Rule 11(b)(3) is your certification if you later allege that the plaintiff owns the debt. The list does not say an assignment is effective. Formal Opinion 512 applies before the chain goes into a tool. A link that is not in the file is not filled in. Section 501, if a bankruptcy case exists, identifies who may file a proof of claim. It does not decide which assignee owns the contract.
