List what the contract says a statement of account must contain
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- List each item the contract says a statement of account must show, and any period the contract states. Do not invent a period and do not draft the statement.
- What the lawyer must review
- You decide the contents. No statute setting the period or contents of a credit statement was opened. Section 1692g requires validation disclosures in an initial communication by a debt collector. It is not a periodic statement of account, and it does not set how often a creditor must send one. A figure that is not in the ledger is not added. Model Rule 1.4(b) applies to what you tell your client about a missing item. You prepare any statement that goes to the debtor.
