- How AI is used
- List the conduct and the legal provision the demand states, each class of material, and the return date. Do not write the response or the certificate.
- What the lawyer must review
- 15 U.S.C. § 57b-1 lets the Commission demand documentary material, tangible things, reports or answers, and oral testimony, when it has reason to believe the person has material relevant to unfair or deceptive acts or practices, or to antitrust violations. Each demand must state the nature of the conduct and the provision of law. A demand for documents must describe each class with enough definiteness to be fairly identified, and must set a return date that allows a reasonable time. A petition to modify or set aside the demand is due not later than 20 days after service, or before the return date, whichever period is shorter, unless a Commission investigator extends that time in writing. The person may be represented by an attorney at oral testimony. You decide objections and what is produced. The tool does not certify the production.
