How AI is used
The rule is state law, and the lawyer must confirm which state's law governs. For example, Florida Statutes s 733.707(1) states eight classes for payment of estate expenses. From the asset list and the bills, place each expense into one of the eight classes only when the file states the facts that match that class. Leave the final order blank. Do not pay a creditor.
What the lawyer must review
The rule is state law, and the lawyer must confirm which state's law governs. For example, Florida Statutes s 733.707(1) tells the personal representative to pay expenses and obligations in order. Class 1 is costs, expenses of administration, compensation of personal representatives, their attorneys' fees, and attorneys' fees awarded under section 733.106(3). Class 2 is reasonable funeral, interment, and grave-marker expenses, not to exceed $6,000 in the aggregate. Class 3 is debts and taxes with preference under federal law, the two state claims cited in that paragraph, and claims in favour of the state for unpaid court costs, fees, or fines. Class 4 is reasonable and necessary medical and hospital expenses of the last 60 days of the last illness, including compensation of persons attending the decedent. Class 5 is family allowance. Class 6 is arrearage from court-ordered child support. Class 7 is debts acquired after death by continuation of the decedent's business under section 733.612(22), only to the extent of the assets of that business. Class 8 is all other claims, including judgments during life, and any excess over the sums allowed in classes 2 and 4. The tool sorts only what the file already labels. It does not pay a creditor and it does not decide a claim's class where the facts are incomplete. Subsection (3), on a revocable trust, was not fully read and is not applied.
