Build an estate administration ledger from the file
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Build three working lists from the file: assets with the figure as printed and the page, creditors who demanded payment with the amount if printed and the page, and payments the statements show with date, payee and page. Do not mark a claim timely or a payment proper.
- What the lawyer must review
- Probate Code § 8800(a) requires an inventory and appraisal of property to be administered, filed within the time in § 8800(b). Section 9050 requires notice to known or reasonably ascertainable creditors, and § 9100 sets the later of the four-month and 60-day claim times. You decide what property is administered, which claims are timely, and what may be paid. The ledger is the file in columns. Opinion 512 leaves those decisions with you.
