Summarize association minutes for the lawyer before any application
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Summarize the minutes the lawyer marks, with the meeting date and the decision as the minutes state it. Write no sentence of an application.
- What the lawyer must review
- You check the summary against the minutes. California Civil Code § 5200 includes agendas and minutes of member, board and committee meetings in association records, and it excludes minutes and other information from executive sessions of the board. Do not summarize an executive-session minute into a note that might be filed. You write any application. The time to produce records is not in § 5200. Formal Opinion 512: you remain responsible for anything filed. This is California.
