Check a landlord's termination notice for validity
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Working with the lawyer from the notice, the agreement and the attachments, set out the ground relied on, the form used, the notice period given, the method and date of service and the supporting documents attached, against the requirements the lawyer identifies for that State.
- What the lawyer must review
- The lawyer decides whether the ground is one the statute allows on that date, whether the period is long enough for the agreement type and the method of service, whether required documents were attached, and whether the notice is valid.

- Check the ground against the list in force on that date, not a list from before the 2025 reforms.
- Recompute the notice period by hand, including any extra time for posting.
- Check every required attachment is present and says what the ground requires.
