Record re-offer dates after an owner-occupancy or remodel termination
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- One row per unit. Columns are the ground printed on the notice, the vacate date printed on the notice, any re-offer date printed in the file, and the document name of any offer. Copy those fields. Do not decide that the owner failed to re-offer.
- What the lawyer must review
- California Civil Code § 1946.2 requires an offer back at the same rent and lease terms if an intended occupant does not move in within 90 days after the tenant vacates, or does not occupy the unit as a primary residence for 12 consecutive months. A demolition or substantial-remodel notice must include the re-rent statement the section sets out. You decide whether the owner had to make the offer. The register only shows what is printed.
