Quote the completion clause before any notice is written
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- Quote the completion date and the clause that says what happens when that date passes. Do not write a notice to complete.
- What the lawyer must review
- You write any notice. No statute requiring a notice to complete was opened. The notice, if you send one, takes its contents from the contract you quote and from any statute you later open. Rule 11 does not apply to a contractual notice unless you file it. Model Rule 1.4(b) requires an explanation that lets the client decide to send it. Formal Opinion 512 requires you to verify a generated quote against the clause. A deadline that is not in the contract is not added.
