How AI is used
Place each instruction the lawyer wrote beside the contract clause that answers it, or mark the instruction unanswered. Quote the clause. Do not advise the client to sign.
What the lawyer must review
Model Rule 1.4(a)(2) requires you to consult the client about the means of carrying out the objectives, and Rule 1.4(b) requires an explanation sufficient for an informed decision. You check every row before that explanation goes to the client. Comment 8 to Rule 1.1 treats technology as part of competence when a tool makes the comparison. Formal Opinion 512 applies if the contract contains information relating to the representation and the tool retains or learns from inputs.
