How AI is used
Extract the practitioner's status as a physician or other licensee, the length of any privilege restriction, and whether a licence was revoked, suspended, restricted, censured, reprimanded, put on probation, or surrendered. Do not decide that a report is required.
What the lawyer must review
42 U.S.C. § 11133(a)(1) requires a health care entity to report to the Board of Medical Examiners a professional review action that adversely affects a physician's clinical privileges for a period longer than 30 days, a surrender of clinical privileges while the physician is under investigation for possible incompetence or improper professional conduct or in return for not conducting such an investigation, and a professional society's action that adversely affects a physician's membership. Reporting on another licensed health care practitioner is permissive under subsection (a)(2). The information is the name, a description of the acts or omissions or other reasons, and such other information as the Secretary deems appropriate. 42 U.S.C. § 11132 requires a Board of Medical Examiners which revokes, suspends, or otherwise restricts a physician's licence, or censures, reprimands, or places a physician on probation, for reasons relating to professional competence or conduct, or to which a physician's licence is surrendered, to report in accordance with § 11134. Section 11134 was not opened. You decide which subsection, if either, applies.
