Index prior complaints the lawyer has already collected
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- From the complaint files, personnel notes and earlier claims the lawyer has already collected, build a table with the date, the author, the person named and the document and page. Do not decide that a complaint proves notice, tendency or a breach, and do not write a narrative.
- What the lawyer must review
- Decide which complaints are relevant to reasonable precautions, and which are privileged or about someone else.
- A complaint about another child is not used until the lawyer has decided the evidence question.
- Keep the file in the firm's system. Confidentiality, APP 11 and a notifiable-breach check apply.

Checklist
- Every row cites a document and a page. No row is taken from a summary prepared outside the firm.
- Mark a complaint that names a different child, and leave the use of it to the lawyer.
- Do not write that the institution knew, or that it breached a duty. The table is an index.
- Do not send the index outside the firm. It is confidential client and third-party information.
