What the lawyer must review
You write the brief and the petition. A Court of Criminal Appeals has jurisdiction under Article 66 (10 U.S.C. § 866) over a timely appeal from the judgment of a court-martial that includes a finding of guilty, and over the other classes Article 66 lists. The accused may petition the Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces under Article 67 (10 U.S.C. § 867) within 60 days from the earlier of the date the accused is notified of the Court of Criminal Appeals decision or the date a copy is deposited in the mail as that article describes. Review by that court on the accused’s petition is granted on good cause. Model Rule 3.3 forbids a false statement of law. Opinion 512: do not file generated citations or analysis you have not opened.
