List topics before staff use an AI draft of a visa letter
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- List who would sign any filing, whether a standing order is in the file, and whether passport data would enter the tool. Write no file note in the lawyer's voice.
- What the lawyer must review
- The lawyer writes the file note. Formal Opinion 512 and Model Rule 1.6 apply to staff use of a generative draft. Policy Memorandum 25-40 does not impose a disclosure unless a standing order does. Section 1003.102 is practitioner discipline in immigration proceedings. It is not an Australian offence provision, and it is not applied as one. The tool's topic list is not the note.
