Record that a visitor-visa letter is not a decision factor
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- Record the visit purpose stated in the instructions and whether it matches a B-1 or B-2 example on the visitor page. Write no letter.
- What the lawyer must review
- The State Department visitor page says a letter of invitation is not needed to apply for a visitor visa and is not a factor in whether the visa is issued or denied. The page also says the same of a support statement. Visitor visas are B-1 for business, B-2 for tourism, or B-1/B-2 for both. Examples of B-1 activities include consulting with business associates and attending a convention. A person on a visitor visa is not permitted to accept employment or work. A visa does not guarantee entry. Any letter that is nevertheless taken to an interview is written by the lawyer, not the tool.
