List the death facts before any coroner decision
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- List the date of death, the place the file states, and any sentence in the file about the cause. Do not say the death must be reported.
- What the lawyer must review
- You decide whether a report is required. No coroner or medical-examiner statute was opened, so no category of reportable death is listed. 42 CFR § 483.12 reporting duties are for a facility that section covers. They are not a coroner statute. 45 CFR § 164.502 limits what you disclose while you inquire. Model Rule 1.4(a)(3) requires you to keep the client informed that the reporting question is still open. A cause that is not in the file is not supplied.
