Compare a draft contract with the clause set the lawyer supplies
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Place each clause in the lawyer's set beside the closest clause in the draft, and list any set clause that has no counterpart. Quote only text that appears in those two documents. Do not propose new clause wording.
- What the lawyer must review
- ABA Model Rule 1.1 requires competent representation, which requires the legal knowledge, skill, thoroughness, and preparation reasonably necessary for the representation. ABA Formal Opinion 512 (29 July 2024) requires the lawyer to review output from a generative tool before it is relied on. The clause set is the one the lawyer supplies for this procurement. The lawyer decides which differences matter and what the contract will say. The comparison does not adopt a clause.
