List the terms for a defamation settlement and a correction
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- From the term sheet the lawyer supplies, list the payment if any, the correction text if any, the publication, and the date. Write no sentence of the agreement or the correction.
- What the lawyer must review
- You write the agreement and any correction. Civil Code § 48a(a) requires a written notice specifying the statements claimed to be libelous and demanding correction, served within 20 days after knowledge, for the damages rule in that section to move beyond special damages. Section 48a(b) describes a correction published or broadcast in substantially as conspicuous a manner, in the same publication or on the same station, within three weeks after service. You decide whether a contractual correction meets that description and whether § 48a applies at all. The term list is not the deed.

| Lawyer | Perform the substantive analysis and decisions. Independently check any permitted supporting work and approve the exact output for its intended use. |
