In date order, list the event the brief states and the page. Do not say what the event proves.
What the lawyer must review
You decide what the chronology is used for. Rule 16(a), upon the defendant's request, requires disclosure of specified statements, the prior record, and documents and objects in the government's possession, custody, or control that are material to preparing the defense, that the government intends to use in its case-in-chief, or that were obtained from or belong to the defendant. Brady v. Maryland holds that suppression, upon request, of evidence favorable to an accused violates due process where the evidence is material to guilt or to punishment. Later cases removing the request were not opened. Model Rule 1.6 applies before the brief goes into a tool. An event that is not in the brief is not added.
