How AI is used
From the daily reports, correspondence and the changes clause the lawyer designates, build a dated table of the event, the notice, the cost backup and the time asked. Draft no claim letter.
What the lawyer must review
The claim is a contract notice. The lawyer writes it and checks every figure against the records. On a federal agency contract for commercial products or services, FAR 52.212-4(c) allows changes in the terms only by written agreement of the parties, and the clause makes the contract subject to the Contract Disputes statute, 41 U.S.C. chapter 71. For a federal construction invoice, 31 U.S.C. § 3903 is the prompt-payment timing statute, including a 30-day payment date after a proper invoice where the contract sets no specific date, with the exceptions in that section. A Miller Act payment bond, where 40 U.S.C. § 3131 requires one, is a separate route from a change order. Formal Opinion 512 requires the lawyer to verify generated dates and section numbers.
