Prepare assignment or sublease consent papers
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- Extract the lease's assignment and subletting clause, the proposed assignee, and the conditions the clause lists. Write no sentence of the consent, the deed, or the landlord's letter.
- What the lawyer must review
- Consent is a contract question unless a state statute you have opened says otherwise. Texas Property Code Chapter 93 does not create a right to assign. California Civil Code § 1624(a)(3) requires a subscribed writing for an agreement to lease real property for longer than one year; check whether the assignment in front of you is that kind of agreement. You draft the consent that will be signed. A tool's paragraph does not go into it.
