Prepare a motion from the facts-and-issues brief
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- List the relief, the record cites and the rule the lawyer has named. Write no paragraph of the motion or of a proposed order that will be filed.
- What the lawyer must review
- Rule 11(b) is the lawyer's certification, after a reasonable inquiry, that the legal contentions are warranted by existing law or by a nonfrivolous argument for extending, modifying or reversing it or for establishing new law, and that the factual contentions have evidentiary support. The lawyer writes and signs the motion. Every authority is opened in a reporter or an official source. Asking another tool whether a citation is real does not satisfy that duty. Formal Opinion 512: uncritical reliance can violate the duties of competence and of candor to the tribunal. Open the assigned judge's standing orders before filing.
