Reconcile a settlement distribution against the method the lawyer states
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Compare each class member's recorded payment with the method the lawyer states, and flag a row that does not follow it. Do not change the method.
- What the lawyer must review
- You decide what the method is and whether a variance matters. Under Rule 23(e)(2), one matter is whether the relief is adequate, taking into account the effectiveness of any proposed method of distributing relief to the class, including the method of processing class-member claims. The reconciliation uses the method you state. It does not write a new one. Check every flagged total against the source. Model Rule 1.6: keep the distribution data out of a public tool.
