Tabulate class data for a settlement distribution
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- Tabulate the claim fields the lawyer marks, by class member. Write no sentence of the distribution method.
- What the lawyer must review
- Under Rule 23(e)(2), one matter is whether the relief provided for the class is adequate, taking into account the effectiveness of any proposed method of distributing relief to the class, including the method of processing class-member claims. You write that method. You open the whole of Rule 23(e) before a settlement is filed. The table is not the method. Check every total against the source data before it is used. Model Rule 1.6: do not put the class data into a public tool.
