How AI is used
List the forums named in the file, the date of each alleged act, whether a state or local agency filing is recorded, and the days elapsed. Do not pick the forum.
What the lawyer must review
Under 42 U.S.C. § 2000e-5(e)(1) a charge is filed within 180 days after the alleged unlawful employment practice. If the person has initially instituted proceedings with a state or local agency with authority to grant or seek relief from the practice, or to institute criminal proceedings, the charge is filed within 300 days after the practice, or within 30 days after notice that the agency has terminated the proceedings, whichever is earlier. The Commission may sue a non-government respondent if it cannot secure an acceptable conciliation agreement within 30 days after the charge or after the referral period (42 U.S.C. § 2000e-5(f)(1)). Federal Rule 11 applies to a later federal complaint. You choose the forum and calculate the deadline from the charge and the agency file, not from a generated date.
