- What the lawyer must review
- California Civil Code § 1624(a)(3) makes a lease of real property for longer than one year invalid unless it is in writing and subscribed by the party to be charged. If an agent signs, the agent's authority must be in writing and subscribed by the party to be charged. UCC § 2-201 is a goods rule. The uniform text uses $500 and a 10-day objection between merchants. It is not used for land. You write the lease.
