Where this comes from
The official form is published by fcfcoa.gov.au; this page is a completion guide. Last checked on 2026-10-17.
When to use it
Use for any party to a financial or property proceeding who must file a Financial Statement under r 6.06(4). Not needed for an Application for Consent Orders, which has its own financial disclosure.
How AI may be used
Lawyer-led. The Financial Statement is sworn or affirmed evidence. AI may index and reconcile source documents into the lawyer's working schedules, but it must not complete the form or produce figures that go into it unchecked.
AI may
- Index the documents r 6.06(7) requires and list what is missing
- Reconcile bank, superannuation and loan statements into a working schedule with a source reference for every figure, for the lawyer to check
- Compare an earlier Financial Statement with new statements and list changes that may trigger the 21-day update in r 6.06(6)
AI must not
- Must not enter figures into the Financial Statement or write any part of it
- Must not estimate or value assets, businesses or defined benefit superannuation
- Must not process the other party's disclosed documents in a tool that fails PD-AI para 5.5 or r 6.04 (use for the proceeding only)
The lawyer checks
- Every figure traced to a source document dated as at the date of swearing
- Trusts, companies and financial resources disclosed as r 6.06(2) requires
- Disposals of property in the 12 months before separation and since separation
- The client understands the affidavit, the undertaking and the continuing duty
