Where this comes from
The official form is published by fairwork.gov.au; this page is a completion guide. Last checked on 2026-10-17.
When to use it
Use when onboarding any national-system employee, and at the 6- and 12-month points for casuals. Always give the current official version unaltered; do not rewrite or summarise it in place of the statement.
How AI may be used
AI may assemble onboarding packs and track when statements fall due, provided the statement itself is the current official version downloaded from the Fair Work Ombudsman and given unaltered.
AI may
- Build an onboarding checklist that attaches the current statements for each employee type.
- Calculate the 6- and 12-month dates for casual employees and add reminders to the matter or HR system.
- Draft the covering email that sends the statements and asks for acknowledgment.
AI must not
- Must not paraphrase, summarise or 'improve' the statement and give that in place of the official document.
- Must not decide that an employer is a small business employer without the headcount evidence.
The lawyer checks
- The version given is the current one on the Fair Work Ombudsman website.
- The right statements were given for the employee type, and delivery is evidenced.
- Small business status for the casual statement timing has been checked.
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
