Prompt template with guardrails: reconciling registrations to the class definition
A guarded prompt for an approved, closed AI tool to compare pseudonymised registration records with the pleaded class definition and output a flag table with reasons, without deciding eligibility.

When to use it
Use within the firm's approved tool, under the intake protocol, to triage registration data against the class definition or to re-check the register after the definition is amended. Do not use with a public AI tool, or with names and contact details.
How AI may be used
The tool flags and explains; it never decides. Inputs are pseudonymised, the criteria are quoted from the pleading, and a lawyer reviews every flag other than a sampled "within criteria" result.
AI may
- Compare each pseudonymised record with the quoted criteria and assign a flag
- Quote the criterion and the data field relied on for each flag
- List records with missing or contradictory data
AI must not
- Must not be given names, contact details, account numbers or other direct identifiers
- Must not infer facts that are not in the record
- Must not state that a person is or is not a group member
- Must not be run in a public or consumer AI tool
The lawyer checks
- The criteria pasted into the prompt match the current pleading word for word
- The output has one row per input record and no invented records
- Every "outside", "uncertain" and "conflict" flag is reviewed by a lawyer
- The run is logged with the date, tool, version and input file reference
Method: how the Green, Yellow and Red levels are decided. This is guidance for planning, not legal advice.
