- How AI is used
- Record the information the consumer says is wrong, the correction they ask for, and whether the business has verified the requester. Leave the legal conclusion to the lawyer.
- What the lawyer must review
- The California Privacy Protection Agency's FAQ states that, as of January 1, 2023, a California resident has a right to correct inaccurate personal information that a business has about them. The Attorney General's CCPA page also states that right. The Attorney General's page says the Agency has proposed regulations on the right to correct and, on the page as opened, describes those proposed regulations as not currently final or effective. The lawyer confirms the status of the regulations before relying on a regulatory timing or verification procedure, and applies the statutory right the Agency FAQ describes. Verification information may be used only to verify the request.
