How AI is used
Draft the written notice from the violation or the damage the lawyer describes, including the date, time, and place the lawyer supplies. Leave any fact not supplied blank. Do not draft the later decision. State law governs, and the lawyer confirms the governing state. For example, California.
What the lawyer must review
California Civil Code § 5855: when the board will meet to consider or impose discipline, or to impose a monetary charge to reimburse the association for damage to the common area or facilities caused by a member or the member's guest or tenant, the board notifies the member in writing, by personal delivery or by individual delivery under § 4040, at least 10 days before the meeting. You open § 4040. The notice states the date, time, and place, the nature of the alleged violation or damage, and that the member may attend and address the board. The board meets in executive session if the member asks. The member may cure before the meeting. The board does not impose discipline if the member cures before the meeting, or, where the cure would take longer than the time before the meeting, if the member provides a financial commitment to cure. If they do not agree after the meeting, the member may request internal dispute resolution under § 5910, which you open. A written decision, if discipline or a monetary charge is imposed, is delivered within 14 days after the action. Discipline or the charge is not effective unless this section is followed.
