How AI is used
From the letter the lawyer marks, extract the particulars it gives, any statement of why the information is relevant, and the words that invite the applicant to comment. If one of those three is missing, leave a gap. Do not draft the comment. Do not decide that the information would be a reason for refusing the visa, that it is specifically about the applicant, or that the applicant did not give it.
What the lawyer must review
The lawyer decides whether section 57 of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth) applies and what the comment should say. Subsection (1) defines relevant information as information, other than non-disclosable information, that the Minister considers would be the reason or part of the reason for refusing the visa, is specifically about the applicant or another person and not just about a class of persons, and was not given by the applicant for the purpose of the application. Subsection (2) requires the Minister to give particulars in the way the Minister considers appropriate, to ensure as far as reasonably practicable that the applicant understands why it is relevant, and to invite the applicant to comment. The tool extracts the letter. It does not decide that the definition is met, and it does not write the comment.
