How AI is used
Extract the Item 17 rows for dispute resolution by arbitration or mediation, choice of forum, and choice of law, and the contract sections they cite. Do not start a mediation timetable.
What the lawyer must review
16 CFR 436.5(q) requires the franchise-relationship table to disclose dispute resolution by arbitration or mediation, choice of forum, and choice of law, each cross-referenced to the franchise or related agreement. If an item is not applicable, the entry states "Not Applicable." The table instructs the reader to read those provisions in the attached agreements. The opened rule requires that disclosure. It does not impose a waiting period before mediation or litigation. The lawyer reads the clause the row cites. ABA Model Rules 1.1 and 5.3 and Formal Opinion 512 leave that reading with the lawyer.
