- How AI is used
- From the figures and passages the lawyer marks, list the disturbed area, the reclamation step described, and the page. Do not calculate a bond and do not prepare a return for filing.
- What the lawyer must review
- 30 U.S.C. 226(g) provides that the Secretary concerned shall regulate surface-disturbing activities on a lease issued under that chapter and shall determine reclamation and other actions required in the interest of conservation of surface resources, and shall by rule establish standards so that an adequate bond, surety, or other financial arrangement will be in place before surface-disturbing activities begin. 43 C.F.R. 3106.76 provides that an assignee of record title, and a transferee of operating rights, assumes responsibility to plug and abandon wells that are no longer capable of producing, reclaim the lease site, and remedy environmental problems in existence and that a reasonably diligent purchaser should have known at the time of the transfer, and must maintain an adequate bond when required. The dollar amount of a bond was not opened. The lawyer decides what assurance is required. The list does not.
