Digest only the energy-law changes the lawyer pastes
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- For each instrument and change the lawyer pastes, record the citation, the date printed on the paste, and the sentence the lawyer marked. Do not add a change and do not state what the client must do.
- What the lawyer must review
- There is no single national mining or energy code that supplies a standing digest. 30 U.S.C. 226 is the statute under which the Secretary of the Interior leases parcels known or believed to contain oil or gas. A pasted amendment is the lawyer's source. ABA Formal Opinion 512 (29 July 2024) requires the lawyer to check a generative summary before it is used. The lawyer decides which changes matter to the client. The digest does not give that advice.
