- Quote any clause that says the attorney signs in the attorney's name or in the principal's name. If the instrument is silent, say so. Do not say either method is effective.

- You decide how a document should be signed. No statute on the form of an attorney's signature was opened. The quote is not permission. Model Rule 1.4(b) applies before a deed or a check is signed. Formal Opinion 512 requires you to verify the quote. You do not sign, and you do not draft a signature block, from this check.
