Record the dates of the charge and the plea
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- List the date of the charging paper and the date of the plea, as the file states them. Do not compute a reduction and do not state a percentage.
- What the lawyer must review
- You decide whether timing matters to the sentence. Section 3553(a) requires a sentence sufficient, but not greater than necessary, and it refers to the guidelines range. It does not state a plea percentage. The Guidelines Manual was not opened, so this check states no discount for a prompt plea. Model Rule 3.3 applies before you tell a court that a reduction applies. Formal Opinion 512 applies to the docket. A date that is not in the file is not inferred.
