Table sentences from judgments the lawyer selects
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- For each judgment the lawyer supplies, record the court, the year, the offense the judgment names, and the sentence the judgment imposes. Do not add a judgment.
- What the lawyer must review
- You select the judgments and you decide whether any of them is comparable. Section 3553(a) is the federal sentencing statute: a sentence sufficient, but not greater than necessary, considering the offense, the defendant's history and characteristics, and the purposes in § 3553(a)(2). The table does not compute a guidelines range. The Guidelines Manual was not opened. Model Rule 3.3 applies before any judgment is handed to the court. Formal Opinion 512 applies if a tool reads the judgments. A judgment that is not in the set the lawyer supplied is not a source.
