Checklist
- A death, a serious injury or illness, or a dangerous incident is reported immediately on 13 10 50. Reports can be made 24 hours a day. The page says some dangerous incidents must be notified even if no one is injured. It does not list those types, so the lawyer uses the legislation the page links.
- The scene is not disturbed until an inspector arrives or gives a direction. The page allows action to assist an injured person, remove a deceased person, make the site safe, assist with a police investigation if directed, or comply with an inspector request.
- First aid is provided. The incident is recorded in the register of injuries. The workers compensation insurer is notified within 48 hours of becoming aware of a workplace injury.
- The page states a maximum penalty for failing to notify of $50,000 for a body corporate and $10,000 for an individual. The lawyer makes the report. The note does not.
