Checklist
- A company must allow anyone to inspect a register kept under this Chapter. If the register is on a computer, the person inspects it by computer. A member, a registered option holder or a registered debenture holder may inspect without charge. Other people may inspect only on payment of any fee, up to the prescribed amount, that the company requires. The prescribed amount was not on the section.
- The company must give a copy of the register, or a part of it, within 7 days if the person applies in accordance with the section and pays any fee, up to the prescribed amount, that the company requires. ASIC may allow a longer period. If the register is kept on a computer, the copy must be in the prescribed form. The form was not on the section.
- An application for a copy states each purpose for which the person is accessing the copy, none of those purposes is a prescribed purpose, and the application is in the prescribed form. The prescribed purpose was not on the section. The company is not required to allow a person to see share certificate numbers, or to give a copy that contains them.
- An offence based on the inspection duty, the copy duty, or a condition of an ASIC exemption, is an offence of strict liability. The lawyer decides whether the request is met. The note does not release the register.
