Compare fee figures the lawyer supplies, without proposing a percentage
Key facts

- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- Table the fee figures and the funding figures the lawyer supplies, side by side. State no percentage and write no proposed order.
- What the lawyer must review
- Rule 23(h): in a certified class action the court may award reasonable attorney's fees and nontaxable costs that are authorized by law or by the parties' agreement. A claim is made by motion under Rule 54(d)(2) at a time the court sets, with notice to class members, in a reasonable manner, when class counsel moves. You open Rule 54. You decide what to ask for. Rule 23(h) does not state a percentage of the fund. You write any order or motion. Formal Opinion 512: a generated percentage is not the rule.
