Prepare the financing-statement filing data from the executed security
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- List the debtor name, secured-party name, collateral indication and filing office from the executed security and the organic record or licence the lawyer supplies. Write no financing statement.
- What the lawyer must review
- You write the filing. U.C.C. § 9-502(a) makes a financing statement sufficient only if it provides the debtor’s name, the secured party’s name or a representative, and an indication of the collateral. Section 9-503 says whose name is sufficient, including the public organic record for a registered organisation and, for an individual, the alternative the state enacted (driver’s licence or individual name). A financing statement that provides only the debtor’s trade name does not sufficiently provide the name of the debtor (§ 9-503(c)). A statement that already provides the subsection (a) name is not ineffective merely because it omits a trade name (§ 9-503(b)). Open the state’s enactment before the filing is lodged.
Who does what
| Role | What they do |

| Assistance | Supporting preparation only. Consider narrowly defined preparation support after confirming the tool’s capability and permitted scope. The tool writes nothing into the document. Substantive advice, judgement and any restricted content remain with the responsible human. |
| Lawyer | Perform the substantive analysis and decisions. Independently check any permitted supporting work and approve the exact output for its intended use. |
