Keep a working log of exhibits that are not in English
Key facts

- GreenLawyer review
- How AI is used
- Fill a fixed log: exhibit number, the language printed on the exhibit, the translator named on the page, the date printed, and the page. Do not translate. Do not say the person is qualified.
- What the lawyer must review
- Federal Rule of Evidence 604 requires an interpreter to be qualified and to give an oath or affirmation to make a true translation. It does not prescribe a log and it does not create a form. You decide whether the person who produced a translation meets Rule 604 before the translation is offered. Formal Opinion 512 warns that generated text can be fluent and still have no basis in fact, so a translation the tool produced is not entered in the log as if a person had made it. The columns are fixed. The log locates paper.
