Map the hearing steps a federal statute requires before a decision
Key facts

- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- Extract the notice, hearing, and record provisions from the statute the lawyer identifies, in the statute's words. Do not decide whether 5 U.S.C. § 554 applies or what process is due.
- What the lawyer must review
- Section 554 applies, according to its terms, to an adjudication required by statute to be determined on the record after opportunity for an agency hearing, with stated exclusions, including matters later tried de novo and decisions that rest solely on inspections, tests, or elections. Persons entitled to notice must be told the time, place, and nature of the hearing, the legal authority and jurisdiction, and the matters of fact and law asserted. Hearing and decision, if the parties do not settle, follow §§ 556 and 557. You decide whether this program is inside § 554. Constitutional due process is a separate question.
