- How AI is used
- Set out the published statement, the passage that conflicts with it, and where the statement is still displayed. Do not write the corrected statement.
- What the lawyer must review
- The lawyer writes the correction and decides where it is shown. Model Rule 7.1 says a lawyer shall not make a false or misleading communication about the lawyer or the lawyer's services. A communication is false or misleading if it contains a material misrepresentation of fact or law, or omits a fact necessary to make the statement as a whole not materially misleading. Formal Opinion 512 says output must be reviewed and errors corrected, including a misstatement of law or fact, and quotes Rule 3.3 on correcting a material false statement of law or fact previously made to a tribunal.
