Issue the eligible-recipient card from the approved whistleblower policy
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- From the whistleblower policy the lawyer has already approved, fill a one-page eligible-recipient card. The fixed headings are: the eligible-recipient categories in s 1317AAC that the policy names; the instruction that a qualifying disclosure's identity, and information likely to lead to identification, is confidential under s 1317AAE unless an exception in that section applies; and the contact channel named in the policy. Leave any heading blank where the approved policy does not supply it. The card contains no facts of a disclosure and no person's name.
- What the lawyer must review
- The lawyer checks the card when the policy is approved, and again when the policy or the named contact channel changes. A staff member uses the card to see who the approved policy authorises and which channel to use. The card is not an assessment of a disclosure, and it is not the policy.
