Review a will a client prepared with a public generative tool
Key facts
- Human involvement
- RedLawyer-led
- How AI is used
- Extract each gift, fiduciary appointment and signature block into a table, and list clauses that cite no statute. Write no will clause.
- What the lawyer must review
- You write any will that will be signed. Execution, the number of witnesses and any self-proving form are the law of the state whose formalities apply. Opinion 512 warns that generative tools hallucinate plausible but wrong text, and that filing or relying on unchecked output can mislead a client or a court. Model Rule 1.1 requires competent representation. Do not put the client’s family or asset facts back into a public tool (Model Rule 1.6).
