Send the firm’s warning on wills prepared with a public generative tool
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Insert the client’s name and the date into the firm’s approved warning. Do not add matter-specific legal advice.
- What the lawyer must review
- The warning, approved at setup, tells the client that a will from a public generative tool can fail the state’s signing rules and can contain invented clauses, and that the firm will not treat it as the client’s will without a full review. Opinion 512 requires competence with the tool and verification of its output. Model Rule 1.1 is the same duty. If the client wants a will, open a new matter and apply the review task.
