Record the opposition window from the publication date
Key facts
- Human involvement
- YellowClose supervision
- How AI is used
- Record the publication date under section 1062(a) if the file states it. Leave blanks for the thirty-day date and for any extension. Do not decide that a filing was in time.
- What the lawyer must review
- Section 1063 starts the time to file an opposition at thirty days after publication under section 1062(a). A written request made before that thirty-day period expires extends the time for an additional thirty days. Further extensions of time may be granted by the Director for good cause when requested before the extension expires. The Director shall notify the applicant of each extension. You calculate the dates. The tool does not. Section 1052(d) is the resemblance ground. It does not set this period. You do not use a two-month period running from acceptance.
