Record the limits on asking for the protection-visa bar to be lifted

How AI is used
Record whether a written notice under the section is already on the file and, if it is, the date it was given. Leave the last day for a new application blank. Do not write a request to the Minister, and do not give reasons said to be in the public interest.
What the lawyer must review
The lawyer decides whether anything is sent to the Minister under section 48B of the Migration Act 1958 (Cth). If the Minister thinks it is in the public interest, the Minister may, by written notice to a particular non-citizen, determine that section 48A does not apply to a protection visa application made in the period starting when the notice is given and ending at the end of the seventh working day after the day the notice is given. The power may only be exercised by the Minister personally. The Minister has no duty to consider whether to exercise it, whether or not asked. A determination is followed by a statement laid before each House of the Parliament, within the sitting-day rule the section states, and the statement must not name or identify the non-citizen. The lawyer writes anything that is sent. The tool does not count the seventh working day, because the section does not define a working day.
